As part of the Gulf Offshore Islands National Park & Seashore, the island is several miles long, offering shops, casual as well as fine dining and clubs. It offers several miles of undisturbed and undeveloped national and state park lands, great for those peaceful walks or bike riding. The Northern Gulf of Mexico waters as well as local bay waters, offer some of the best fishing (Marlin, Grouper, Red Snapper, etc) as well as excellent scuba diving (USS Oriskany). Visit Fort Pickens, a pre civil war Fort, which is now a National Park. Close by is the City of Pensacola, with an active downtown quarter, visit the historic Seville Quarter, with it's quaint shops, restaurants and nightlife.
