There is a wonderful network of trails that wind thru the mountains behind the Ritz Carlton at Dove Mountain. The trails are accessed thru the Ritz Carlton entrance gate. Just tell the guard that you are here to hike and they'll hand you a trail map and direct you to the trail head. When I came to hike with my dog they even gave me a couple bottles of water. Where else will you be given free bottled water before your hike? The Marana website details all the trail lengths and elevations. There are also several signs at the trail head and on the trails. The trails were well marked and well kept. There are also wonderful views once you get up into the foothills.
