Leashed dogs are welcome in specific areas of Saguaro National Park. Saguaro features two districts separated by the city of Tucson. The Park's website states that "pets are allowed only on roadways, picnic areas (except Mam-A-Gah picnic area in the Tucson Mountain District-west) and paved trails (Desert Ecology Trail & Desert Discovery Trail)." Dogs are not allowed on trails, off-road or inside visitors centers. Dog owners should keep Fido on a leash no more than six feet and should watch out for cactus spines, thorny brush, snakes, open mine shafts, scorpions, and heat stroke in their pet.
Visitors can check out Saguaro National Park's website for information on dog walks in each section of the park, and step by step directions to both districts. Saguaro National Park's hours vary depending on season and section, so guests should check its website before planning their outing. Passes are $15 per vehicle.
