Lousiana Purchase State Park is pet-friendly. This park commemorates the point that the Louisiana Purchase between the United States and France was made in 1803, where 827,000 square miles of land west of the Mississipi River was purchased by the US for $15 million. You and Fido can check out the elevated boardwalk above the surrounding swamp that leads to the granite monument marking the survey’s starting point. This park can only be accessed during the day.
