Auburn State Recreational Park spans 20 miles on each fork of the American River and offers lots of opportunities for dogs and their owners to enjoy the scenic views in the area. Once teeming with gold miners, now the only people who visit are those looking to check out the interesting area. During your visit, you and Fido may run into an array of wildlife, including deer, rabbits, black bears, rattlesnakes, bobcats, and even mountain lions. Fido must be on a leash under 6 foot and contained within a tent or vehicle at night. There may be a fee of $10 per car visiting the area. The park is open from 7am to sunset every day of the week.
