Idyllwild Park is located less than 1 mile north of the quaint village of Idyllwild at the end of Riverside County Playground Road. The park has 202 acres of beautiful open space, mature forest, breathtaking hiking trails, and a wonderful nature center. In the past, Idyllwild was recognized as America’s cleanest forest and is the perfect place for family and friends.
Campers can enjoy access to fire rings, picnic areas, restrooms, and showers at any one of the 88 individual camping sites. During the day, campers can hike on one of the 5 breathtaking trails overlooking the majestic skyline. Or, for a more adventurous experience, campers can enjoy rock climbing on enormous granite boulders. Also, fishing in nearby Lake Hemet or Lake Fulmor is the perfect ending to a long day.
After exhilarating outdoor activities, a short walk into town offers great dining, shopping, and entertainment experiences with a small town feel. Idyllwild was recently named, “100 Best Small Art Towns in America” and for 17 years they have been playing host to a 2-day jazz event every August that raises funds for art programs. With so many different activities, finding time for everything is the only challenge.
