Anderson Marsh State Historic Park is a dog-friendly park on the corner of the largest natural lake within the borders of California, Clear Lake. The best time of year to visit the park is Autumn, when the trees are brilliant shades of cream, yellow, brown, and green. There is lots of wildlife in the area for you and Fido to enjoy, including birds like the red-shouldered hawk, red-tailed hawk, white-tailed kite, great egret, great blue heron, and black-crowned night heron. Unfortunately, dogs can't wander all the trails in the area as it is protected and may still contain historic artifacts in the ground. However, dogs can join you around the ranch house area.
