Formerly home to a gold mining town with a population of 100, Picacho is now a pet-friendly state recreation area. The park is home to diverse scenery and wildlife, including lots of types of plant, shrubs, bighorn sheep, and thousands of migratory waterfowl. Fido can join you at this interesting park as long as they are on a leash under six feet. Picacho is open 24 hours a day and the camping is first-come first served.
