Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area is dog-friendly. There's plenty for dogs and their owners to do at Gunnison Gorge, including whitewater floating for more adventurous pups. More experienced whitewater rafters and their pets can hike a mile into the canyon to enjoy a multi-day trip of intense rafting on the river. Pets who prefer to stay dry can wander on one of the trails down to the Gunnison River that has carved its way through the black granite and red sandstone surrounding mountains. Dog life jackets are a necessity for Fido if they're getting out on the water.
