Gay City State Park

435 North Street, Hebron, CT, US, 06248-1035

Dogs are welcome on the trails and at the picnic areas of Gay City State Park, but are not permitted on any of the beaches on the shores of the Blackledge River. It'll be interesting for you and Fido to imagine the scores of people that used to go about their days at this old mill town in the 18th and 19th century. The mill burned down in 1830 and the town gradually emptied. Over one hundred years later, the whole area was named as a state park and is now a wonderful place for people to wander with their leashed pups on the trails. Gay City State Park is open every day of the week from 8am until sunset.
