Pachaug State Forest is the largest state forest in Connecticut and it's also pet-friendly. The park covers an epic 24,000 acres across six different towns. This interesting wooded park is covered with old cellar holes and miles of stone fence that show the area was once farmed or pastured. Fido is welcome to join you in the park if they are on a leash and under control. The forest recreation areas are open from sunrise to sunset and the other forest areas are open an hour and a half before sunrise and after sunset.
