Dogs are welcome at Sherwood Island State Park, Connecticut's first state park. This public recreation area can be found on the shore of Long Island Sound and offers swimming, fishing, and other activities. The 238 acres of beach, wetlands, and woodlands provides a varied landscape for you and Fido to enjoy. You can bring Fido to the park during the off-season from October 1 to April 14. Pets are not allowed in the park during the summer season from April 15 through September 30. The park is open every day of the week from 8am until sunset.
