Dogs are allowed to join their owners in the area that surrounds Chief Vann House. Also known as the Showplace of the Cherokee Nation, the main attraction of the state park is the towering brick residence with huge white pillars. Although Fido can't go inside the building, you can enjoy the half mile nature trail that takes in some of the land surrounding it and you can also explore all other historic trails in the park and enjoy the picnic areas. The fee for entrance into the park is $6.50 for adults and $5.50 for children. Chief Vann House is open Thursday through Saturday from 9am to 5pm, Sunday from 1pm to 5pm, and is closed on Sundays from December to March.
