Dogs are welcome to join their owners in certain areas of Smithgall Woods State Park. This mountain retreat is hugely popular among anglers, especially those on the hunt for some trout in Duke's Creek, one of Georgia's most bountiful trout streams. There are 28 miles of pet-friendly trails that your pooch can enjoy if they are on a leash under six feet. If you get tired on one of the trails, you can stop for a rest at one of the picnic shelters. Smithgall Woods State Park is open every day of the week from 7am until sunset.
