Piney Creek Ravine is a beautiful scene when you visit you'll see what I mean. This pet-friendly 198-acre wooded area is great to explore, especially during the months of fall when all the leaves around the park start to change to a stunning array of colors. There's a hiking trail that leads to bluffs overlooking creeks and leading to lots of interesting rock art, also known as petroglyphs. These interesting designs that have been etched onto the rocks in the park through grinding, pecking, and painting date back to the Late Woodland and Mississippian eras, some of which are 1500 years old. While you're checking out where pooches used to write Fido Was Here on the rocks back in the day, you may spot lots of other wildlife as well, including opossum, cottontail, chipmunk, grey and fox squirrel, raccoons, and white-tailed deer.
