Dogs are allowed at Woodford State Fish and Wildlife Area. This pretty pet-friendly recreational area is located along the banks of the Illinois River. The man-made wells make the park a popular haunt among winter anglers. Most of the 2,900-acre park is water-based, providing a great habitat for deer, raccoon, muskrat, mink, beaver, and waterfowl. There are three miles of marked trails that are perfect for a good dog walk with Fido. The varied wildflowers along the way will pique any nature enthusiasts interest. Due to the amount of wildlife that calls this area their home, you must remember to keep Fido on a leash for the duration of their stay at Woodford State Fish and Wildlife Area.
