Dogs are allowed at Fort Massac State Park, where you'll discover 1,500-acres of wooded land that is ideal for picnics, camping, hiking, fishing, and boating on the water. This park is rich in history, with Fort De L’Ascension being built on the site in 1757 and numerous other forts being built since then due to the great vantage point that the area provides. As long as Fido doesn't chase your disc, you can also enjoy the 18-hole disc golf course in the park. If you're planning on taking Fido for walkies, you can enjoy the one mile loop trail through grassy woods or the 2.5-mile Hickory Nut Ridge Trail, the most picturesque hike in the park that runs alongside the Ohio River.
