Whether you are looking for a place to hold a dog-friendly special event, or just want spend an afternoon taking in nature's beauty, Allerton Park and Retreat Center offers all of that and more. It has 1500 acres of meadows, woodlands, gardens, hiking trails, farmsteads, and amazing sculptures. And it can be used daily for hiking, picnicking, and bird-watching. There is also a 100+ year old Georgian mansion right on sight that hosts many weddings and other special events. Dogs are allowed, but must be on a leash (no more than 6') and under the owner's control at all times. Owners are also responsible for cleaning up after their pets.
