Walnut Point State Park is pet-friendly. Dogs are welcome to join their owners at this 671-acre park, made up of hardwoods, wildflowers, and plenty of wildlife who call this habitat their home. Walnut Point Lake is the center point of the park, shaded by lines of trees on the banks. There are more than five miles of trails that can be used by dogs and their owners to explore, including Whispering Pines Trail, Woodpecker Trail, and the Observatory Trail. There's also a paved exercise path around the park for all levels of fitness. When you're tired of walkies, you can relax at one of the seven picnic areas dotted around the park. Pet owners are reminded to keep their pooches on a leash for the duration of their stay at the park.
