Dogs are welcome on Hennepin Canal State Trail. This linear park spans five different counties in Illinois, starting at the Illinois River and ending at Rock River. Historically, the canal is important as it was the first in the whole country to be built out of concrete without stone cut facings. Lots of people use the canal to fish and others use it to boat along. You and Fido will also discover plenty of spots to lay your heads along the 155-mile trail at one of the many campgrounds.
