Lake Darling State Park is dog-friendly. They welcome pets and their owners to enjoy the 302-acre lake and 18 miles of surrounding shoreline. There are lots of trails that weave their way around the lake and the varied area, including one that will take you and your pooch through a re-established prairie, and another that winds through a wood to a cemetery dating back to the 1800s. All visitors are invited to find the trail that best suits their abilities and desires, but there's a chance to see a variety of plant, animal and bird species on all of them. Dogs are allowed all over the park if they are on a leash under six feet.
