Lacey Keosauqua State Park

22895 Lacey Trail, Keosauqua, IA, US, 52565

Lacey Keosauqua State Park is dog-friendly. The main attraction at the largest state park in Iowa are the 19 Native American burial mounds that overlook the Des Moines River. Fido can join you on the many trails that lead around the mounds and beyond into the woods, but are reminded to treat them with respect and care. The trails lead through valleys and cliffs along the rivers banks. The plants and wildflowers along them are varied and beautiful, with some of the trees you'll walk under dating back 200 years. The area is full of wildlife, including deer, raccoons, opossums, gray squirrels, red foxes, and numerous species of bird life. You'll also discover a 30-acre park that is popular among anglers and recreational boat users. The park is open all day, every day of the week.
