Dogs are allowed to join their owners at Brushy Creek State Recreation Area. At over 6000 acres in size, this park is one of Iowa's largest recreational areas. The centerpiece to the park is a 690-acre lake, popular among boat users and anglers alike. There are 45 miles of multi-use, pet-friendly trails and a 12-mile gravel trail surrounding the lake. Dogs must be kept on a leash for the duration of their stay and owners are reminded to clean up any mess after them.
