Leashed dogs are welcome. Dogs are not allowed in buildings or swimming areas. Algonac State Park's major attraction is viewing freighters of the world along the one-half mile of St. Clair River frontage. Algonac is also home to rare habitats, the lake plain prairies and oak savannas that provide places to view prairie plants, wildlife, and butterflies.
