The southernmost area of Kirk Park on Lake Michigan Beach is now an off-leash area for dogs where people can play and swim with their dogs. The dog beach is divided from the non-dog beach with a fence. There is clean sand and water, without rocks, debris, mud, seaweed, or grass. Waste bags provided on-site. A quarter-mile walk from the parking lot to the beach, culminating in a staircase, so maneuvering with strollers is a bit tough. Vehicle Permit: Ottawa County residents - $5 per day or $15 per annual pass; Non-Residents: $7 per day or $25 per annual pass. Parking fees are in effect from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
