Bring Fido to the Fire Island Lighthouse. Hike from Robert Moses State Park parking field #5; there are also paths from the Lighthouse to the oceanfront and Fire Island. Dogs aren't permitted in the actual lighthouse at any time, or oceanside beaches and the Fireside Wilderness from March 15 through Labor Day. However, they are allowed on the bayside beaches and park boardwalks.
