If you are looking for a unique camping experience, Allegany State Park, is a must see. Voted as a Top "Amazing Spot" in the nation in 2007, the park offers two developed areas, Red House and Quaker. They offer many activities depending on the season such as bird watching, picnicking, fishing, hunting, snowshoeing, canoeing, and horseback riding. The park is also known for its 90 miles of groomed snowmobile trails and over 150 winterized cabins. Dogs are welcome in certain areas at no additional fee. They must have proof of rabies shots, must be crated or leashed (6 foot) and owners must clean up after them. They are not allowed in buildings, cabins, bathing areas, or cross country ski areas, but they are allowed throughout the rest of the park and on the trails. They are welcome at the campground and tent areas, which also have a dog walk area provided.
