Asheville Urban Trail

2 S Pack Square, Asheville, NC, US, 28801

Asheville's Urban Trail is a 1.7 mile self-guided, walking tour through downtown Asheville with 30 public sculptures that highlight the town's history and past. Trail maps are available at the starting point at Pack Place and from other local downtown businesses, or you can download it by going to the website link (mp3 files are also available to download for a guided listening experience). The trail is perfect for lovers of art, architecture and history. Five distinct time periods are highlighted by pink granite markers in the sidewalk: the feather represents the Guilded Age, the horseshoe represents the Frontier Period, an angel for the Times of Thomas Wolfe, the courthouse for the Era of Civic Pride, and an eagle for the Age of Diversity. Enjoyed in its entirety, the walking tour requires approximately two hours to complete.
