5000 Whitewater Center Pkwy, Charlotte, NC, US, 28214

The U.S. National Whitewater Center (USNWC), a non-profit outdoor center situated on 400 acres of woodlands along the Catawba River, is dedicated to promoting the active, outdoor lifestyle. Alongside mountain biking and running trails, a climbing center, zip-lines, flatwater kayaking, high rope courses, and a canopy tour, the facility's most unique feature is a multiple-channel, customized whitewater river for rafting and paddling enthusiasts of all abilities. The USNWC is proud to be a U.S. Olympic Training Site that provides outdoor recreation for families, outdoor enthusiasts of all ages, casual observers and Olympic-caliber athletes. Dogs are allowed on the grounds, outdoor restaurant, hiking trails (on-leash), kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards, but cannot join you on the zip line, ropes course, or whitewater rafts. Dogs are also welcome at special events like the Thursday River Jam with live music, Olympic trials, and family camping weekends.
