Hood River Waterfront Trail

Hood River Waterfront Trail, Hood River, OR, US, OR 97031

The Hood River Waterfront Trail is a 2.8 mile, dog-friendly paved trail that connects the Hook on the west side of Hood River waterfront to the Best Western Hotel on the east side. One of the easier hikes in the area, it's a great way to see the river up close, and keep Fido's toe nails short with a wander on the pavement. Just off the trail is The Spit, a 40-acre sandbar at the confluence of the Hood and Columbia rivers. It's hugely popular among dogs who like to roam off-leash. To get there, walk toward the pedestrian bridge that crosses the Hood River and head north on the gravel road on the west side of the bridge.
